Plenary talk at Eurosensors 2015 Conference

The understanding of chemical and physical phenomena in self-confined nanostructures opens the opportunity to explore a strange world of Nanofluidics and develop brand new sensing principles on molecular or sub-molecular level. The plenary talk titled "Artificial nanofluidic systems for medical diagnostics" presented by Péter Fürjes at Freiburg was intended to demonstrate the significant progress in reliable and reproducible nanofabrication techniques for solid-state nanopore arrays. Their feasibility for the detection of specific marker molecules and the issues of system integration were also discussed as vital steps towards the applicability of nanofluidic systems in medical diagnostic devices.
